FAQ
Do you sell directly to homeowners?
Yes, with exceptions. Pellergy will ship our wood pellet boilers to homeowners in areas where there is no trained certified installer. We include homeowner education as well as remote plumbing and heating contractor installation support as a part of the sale. Please contact us for more information and pricing.
I’m a contractor, do I get a discount or price deduction?
Yes! Pellergy supports local contractors and encourages home and business owners to work with plumbing and heating professionals to install their systems. Pellergy offers contractor pricing to HVAC contractors. Please contact us for more information and contractor pricing.
Do pellet-to-steam systems exist? Would you be able to convert our home from steam to hot water?
Following the discontinuation of our conversion burners in 2015, Pellergy is not aware of wood pellet fired steam boilers for the residential market. If you currently have a steam heating system please contact us regarding options for converting your steam system to hydronics using an Air to Water Heat Pump System, Geothermal Ground Source Heat Pump System, Wood Pellet Boiler, Wood Chip Boiler or Cord Wood Boiler.
What do the boilers need for venting?
All Pellergy’s boilers require a Class A chimney for venting, or equivalent. In most jurisdictions, any solid fuel boiler (pellet, chip or cord wood) requires a dedicated chimney flue that can not be shared with another boiler or appliance. While there are power vent units available for solid fuel boilers, Pellergy does not recommend their use nor do we install these. Please contact us for more information.
Do you offer a boiler that is external or does it need to be installed in the house?
All Pellergy’s pellet boilers are required to be installed within a weather-tight building that is conditioned to prevent freezing (i.e. insulated). This can be an outdoor shed that has insulation, basement space or an attached or detached barn, garage or building (local codes permitting). Only Pellergy’s cord wood boilers can be installed outdoors.
Do you offer a conversion kit?
As of 2015 Pellergy no longer offers their original wood pellet conversion burner. EPA rules that went into effect as of January 1, 2015 would have required the re-testing and certification of Pellergy’s burners at great cost and economic burden. Pellergy was forced to discontinue the line of burners effective as of December 31, 2014. Pellery is committed to supporting our legacy burners with parts and technical support for 10-Years following the date of discontinuation and offers customers who wish to upgrade their burner systems discounts when installing new Pellergy products. Please contact us for more information.
