Pellergy and Windhager renewable wood pellet home heating systemsPellergy’s systems heat with hydronics, a method of renewable heating which uses hot water as the main heat distributor. Our boilers send hot water to a plenum, an open compartment, where it heats up a coil. A blower then passes air over the coil. This air is then distributed throughout the home via ductwork or a heat pump system (sometimes both!). The rooms heat up very evenly because the air is heated to around 120ºF to 140ºF. The air also does not dry out as much as a regular forced hot air system due to the regulated coil temperatures, making your home climate that much more comfortable. These systems are designed for optimizing indoor temperatures because they communicate through a smart thermostat, making it easier for you to raise and lower the temperature.

Because water is the main component of a hydronic heating heating system, the hot water can then be circulated through pipes to radiators, baseboards, or heated floor systems. These components transfer heat to the surrounding air. Once the water transfers heat and begins to cool, it returns to the boiler to be reheated, creating a continuous cycle that uses less water.

The hydronic heating system also supports an air filtration system for removing pollutants and allergens in your home’s air, as well as keeping humidity under control. Maintaining your home’s humidity between 30-60% can help reduce the effects of many unwanted conditions in people and buildings. The air filtration helps, not only to filter incoming air from outside, but domestic air already in your home. Pollutants and allergens including pet dander, mold spores, dust, bacteria, viruses, and smoke can all be filtered from the air you breathe, helping to eliminate common illnesses.
